Who We Are
About Us
Babies of Homelessness (BoH) is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing baby essentials to families facing homelessness in the Greater Seattle region. We were founded in 2016 by Star Lalario.
Basic Needs
Diaper need is a countrywide epidemic that hits close to home. According to the National Diaper Bank Network, one in two families cannot afford diapers. This is why most of our efforts focus on delivering baby essentials – diapers, wipes and formula – to the families that need them most. Easing the stress and uncertainty associated with diaper need and providing some stability to these families allows them to devote their time to the important things.
Eliminating Barriers
We do things our own way, with an aim of eliminating as many barriers as possible. This includes a red-tape-free process with no need for a case manager, along with a three-pronged distribution model that gives families options: Monthly Mobile Pickup, Monthly Partner Distribution and Direct Service.
This has allowed us to deliver more than a million total diapers with a small but efficient three-person team.
